About My Book

I figure since I'm posting some of the doodles for my book, I might want to mention what it actually is. Daniel Haley and the Immortal Ninja follows the story of Daniel as he is recruited and trained to be a ninja in the modern age. But these aren't the typical ninja you're familiar with. They have superpowers, and they secretly control the world, fighting bad guys and mythical monsters.

I'd say the story is similar to things like Percy Jackson or dare I say it...Harry Potter, except with ninjas and mythology and mystery lore from several different parts of the globe, not just Europe. The few people who have read it seemed to like it.

I'm not sure if I suck about trying to get the word about it out there (probably true), or if it's only the wrong time for stories like these since so many have been on the market already. I was writing this back when we were knee deep in vampire craze.

And when I did finally get it out there, it seems like people are more interested in more diverse main characters, which I can understand. People want to see something different. So I guess it's just a culmination of bad timing, lousy networking, and all around lack of talent that put this dream in the trash.

I still love this story to death, the characters, and the world I built for it which is why I'll probably always do little doodles for it. Ten years of my life went into it. Ten years I really should've been doing something productive like graduating and going to college.  It was a blessing at the time to have a family who encouraged me to pursue this dream yet looking back now no one told me that I should have a plan B. It's okay to pursue your dream, but PLEASE also be realistic.
